Lies, I say!!! :smt018

I searched this thread and your post history - and have no idea what you're referring to.

Okay, I think I understand! :smt017

I have 4 Contis mounted.

The amount of wheel weights hasn't changed with the Contis. Except on this one wheel (not the same wheel you were referring to previously). The tire on this wheel had extra rubber in one place on the bead. Pretty sure the other front tire you referred to is as well balanced as other tires I've used.

Wire terminals arrived from China. 6 types of connectors from 4 different retailers.

Wanted to get going, so I tried to connect the left turn signal indicator on the new dash.

Right indicator starts blinking. The wiring diagram is wrong on the first fucking wire. Great.

Figured out the signal indicator wires and will try to test more tonight.

Better shot of the adjustable risers.

Still working on wiring.

No end to the shit work I'm finding on this bike.

Pretty sure these are American/SAE screws. Different lengths, wrong threads.

Dickhead previous owner.

Got some more stainless and aluminum hardware. Bike is actually starting to look pretty nice.

I expect you could gently retap these to the correct M5(or 6?) thread smoker.

Threads on the bogus screws were slightly undersized.

I have a tap, but the new stainless button heads threaded in nicely. :smt023

Cut a mounting bracket for the injection oil tank.

Original bracket was busted off by the PO.

Gotta weld it on, and have a few more brackets to go.

The machinist made the radius too large on the fork clamps, so the headlight brackets don't sit flush.

Image

Need to fix the radius on the headlight clamps, as well as tapering the bolt flanges to match the headlight brackets.

I thought these things were obvious in the drawings, but I didn't specify - so it's really my fault.

Radius the outside corner of the bracket, it's dead weight. Reducing the radius on the clamp will reduce it's strength.

Thanks, RuZty.

Will consider radiusing the headlight bracket, but the screw holes are very close to the edge.

Should be able to test fit the headlight now.

I put a radius on the headlight brackets so they sit flush on the fork clamps, and tapered the fork clamps to match the headlight brackets. Also cut down the radius on the other side of the headlight bracket, so the washers sit flush.

First mounting brackets left a 3/8 inch gap between the headlight and head tube.

Image

Second mounting brackets move the headlight 5/16 inch back. Have to dismount the headight to remove the electrical connector, but it looks better. Needs a little more work.

Working on a bracket to mount the new speedo.

Needs more cutting and shaping, plus some proper spacers and hardware.

Using the OEM rubber-bushed gauge brackets.

All cutting and filing done by hand.

You should become a fitter machinist Smoker, you're half way there with all the work you've done so far.
I like the head light setup.
