The 500 has a white needle with a red stripe like the rz350.
Thanks for the information.
But, I'm a little disappointed.
I thought I had a really cool speedo. Turns out I don't. :smt010

I just bought an FZ750. Are you saying my new ride is not cool? :smt021

Peter let's see some pics of your new FZ750 then. I had an 85 about 15 years ago, great bike for daily riding, smooth and comfortable.

OK, so as not to sully Steve's saintly RZ thread with a dirty 4-stroke I have created a new thread.

Two weeks ago, I started the bike up and ran it through a couple of heat cycles.
Then pushed it back inside the shop and ignored it.

Today, I summoned up the courage to take it for a ride.
Engine runs pretty good.

Funny story.
At the moment, I don't have the time to give you all the details. but it ends with...

...so, after putting just over 400 km (250 miles) on my freshly rebuilt motor,
I was cruising down the highway last Sunday, going about 120 km/h (75 mph),
and my bike broke. :smt005

Pictures to follow.

Damn!! :smt009

I'm sorry to hear that.

Hope it's not broken too bad, and you'll be back at it soon.

Apparently you should have kept the one you sold me. It has been dead nuts reliable and it goes like hell to boot.

I say forget about that problematic motor and build and install your newly acquired 85 motor and go from there.

I think Steve is just teasing you guys. He said the bike broke. He didn't say what broke. I'm sure he expected you to assume it was another seizure. I'm going to assume it was something very minor and he's just having some fun. I may be wrong, but knowing Steve and his slightly twisted sense of humour I think he's just waiting to see how many worse case scenarios you guys come up with.
