Yammagamma

#1 Post by 2strokejamoke » Mon Feb 17, 2020 8:28 pm

Heres my 84 yammagamma project. It has team scream porting billet manifold tm34 carbs Toomey pipes and vforce4. Jetting is p42.5 m340 p8 tube needle all the way lean. It flat out rips! I dont remember the exact gearing but I added 2 teeth to the rear sprocket, really woke it up. Bt45 tires tires and gold valves/springs up front.

Nice Work!
It’s interesting how that bike handle so great while being underpowered. Unfortunate Yamaha didn’t learn a thing or two from Suzuki. I guess Yamaha spent more time cutting corners rather than developing much in the way of chassis innovation.
Have to wonder if the money was spent on engine rather than handling. Kind of a Kawasaki way of going about things.

Nice to know the 34mm carbs are working for you. I’ve had a set of 34mm PWK’s waiting on me to get my bike done. It seems that many stick their nose up at anything larger than 29’s unless it’s a 390cc+ engine.

Any future plans with your conversion?

Thanks for taking the time to share your project.

I just want to get some more seat time! It's a real joy to ride for sure, quick and nimble as you can get. It may be the best handling motorcycle I've ever ridden, add the meaty rz power and you've got a real beast. I would love to get some track time on it before I get anymore speeding tickets!
