LB,
The installation instructions say 6" from the piston skirt out.

Amazing! Definitely an RZ for all of us to gawk at. <jaw drop>

Really impressed with your tig skills. For the last few weeks I've been attempting to tig stainless with a miller Synchrowave 250.
My only experience has been working with silver braze. I've never mig'd or tig'd anything. Quite a mountain to climb, it seems.

Thanks guys!
Those bungs were a challenge to weld just because the stainless is so thin. I think I was down around 40 amps on the welder and tried to keep the heat directed at the bungs. It's real easy to blow a hole right through the pipe......... I know that from experience!! :smt013

I just purchased a welder. I've been using it to repair a couple of vintage cars for an enthusiast. I can't wait to start producing some RZ parts, that many of us need, that are no longer available.

roger
I happened to stop at a weigh station today and got the weight with a full tank of gas.
350 lbs. versus 370.6 lbs. in stock trim. So if you consider losing the stock catalytic pipes drops the stock weight by about 20 lbs., I think the upgraded suspension is about an even swap weight wise. :smt023

p51mustang,
Your bike's coming along nicely. The fairing and seat/tailpiece look very good together...nice flowing lines. Great job!! :smt023 :smt023

Small update.
I replaced the SV 650 rear brake I was running with a new combination of parts. It's a Tyga billet machined caliper bracket for a VJ23, along with a Brembo P34 caliper.
The rotor is an EBC 220mm dia. disc with the same bolt pattern as the SV. I believe it is a front rotor for some scooter. :smt003
I had to do a little bit of shimming and filing to get everything to line up right and clear the hub on the wheel. Looks a lot better than the old setup, and now no need for a brake stay arm. Works and feels great too!! :smt023

And I also wired in a new fuse block as the old one had some fuses held in with safety wire. :smt037
