Photophucket

Here's one for Photophucket, from my DropBox account;

Unfortunately you have to pay $12.99CAD per month or $129CAD per year (probably half that in USD) for a plus account, but that gives you 1TB storage and all sorts of other options for version history etc. for any type of files.

Photobucket deserves much worse! Closing my accounts there. basically un-usable without paying even without the hosting.

It has been going down hill for the past year. At the point of being useless now. Maybe the big fee is in response to losing members due to the site's problems. A last gasp for cash to keep the lights on. I have no doubt that by this time next year they will be a distant memory. People will tolerate crap for only so long, even when it's free. Eventually they will move on to something else, until that too becomes more trouble than it's worth.

For entertainment google photobucket and read the results. It's like someone puked in the punchbowl at a party.

In the process of trying to close my account and that site is simply awful. All the ads and active content it is nearly impossible to navigate. Album download keeps throwing errors so looks like one photo at a time which could take me a few hours at the rate of refresh....

I tried to download all of my photos (many) and some videos and it was hopeless using Internet Explorer. It worked well with Firefox. I was able to download everything (full albums) from Photobucket to folders on my desktop. As soon as they take my photos hostage I kill the account, but not before writing them a nice fuck you note.

Just logged into my account and no problems with pop ups. What browser are you using Evan?

Might have stumbled on a work around. Not sure how long it will last. This is a copy n paste from another forum.

PhotoBucket problem Fix
Although this is not an actual forum problem there is a fix that has just become available if you have a specific browser, several people have tried it and it works. It doesn't matter whether you have deleted your PhotoBucket account or not, the pics are still there. Anyway here's a fix Natalie just supplied in a side discussion.

I'm not too sure about mobile users but for chrome users on laptops/PCs etc., we came across an extension that will enable you to see the broken images hosted from PB. Another temp fix for now (who knows how long it'll hold up) but here it is:*https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...ifiaedg?hl=enm

^Click the link and choose to add the extension to Chrome. Then, you want to go to the Extensions main page. It's located in the top right corner menu button, the one that is 3 dots. Or, you can try this link: chrome://extensions/

Find the one you just added (it's icon is the shape of a puzzle piece) and check the box that says "Allow Access to File URLs"

Clear cookies in cache, load up a page with a Photobucket link, and let us know if that worked for you.

I just checked with my colleague that has an android phone and this extension would also work for mobile chrome users as well. You can check out this link for more details on adding extensions to your mobile browser (for chrome on android): [Pretty cool] You can now add Chrome extensions from your Android device to your desktop's [/QUOTE]

Photobucket sucks.

Been on Dropbox for years and am totally happy w it. I actually keep all my files on Dropbox which makes them accessible on all my different devices and ensures they can never be lost in the event of computer failure or catastrophic loss of house n home.
