Awsome German 2stroke

#1 Post by LC Cnd » Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:25 pm

Just got back fm Germany on a bit of R&R. Stopped by the Speyer Tec museum and discover it has a motorcycle display amongst it vast aray of other mechanical classics (cars, subs, jets, trans, cameras, space, WW2 tech - world wide) - I focused on the two strokes. Came across the '72 Munch Proto III 650cc that was to complete with the Kawi H2 500. Would have like to hear her run. Maybe Martin has some knowledge on this! Down side of the museum was there was nobody to talk to about the display or an audio tour. Would have loved to pick Herr Munch's opinion on the III who is featured on Jay Leno's garage & will give you an appreciation of his genius (Munch's).

Wow that's cool! I've seen the Munch Mammoth before, first time I've seen this triple though.

The place where the Protopy 3 (wonder if 1&2 crashed) is similiar to the Barber museum (minus the track). The front drum appears to be the same as the 1966 mammoth.

Didn't know Friedel Münch was doing twostrokes.
Only knew the Mammut bikes with the 1000 cc NSU passenger car engine.

Speyer is a huge museum and not only bike related.
Next time try the PS Speicher in Einbeck: https://ps-speicher.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They're specialized on German bike history from the very beginning.
(If you do, feel free to drop in at my place. I'm about 1h on the car away)
Bye
Martin

Forgot to post all the Yamahas. They even had one climbing the walls/post.
