On line or print motorcycle mags?

#1 Post by LC Cnd » Fri Nov 24, 2017 2:58 am

Been asked what kinda mag subscription I'd like for a gift (X-mas) and seen a few on threads here but could not recall them all - some were e-magazines from Europe that tailored their articles towards vintage as well as new (even E-bikes) for reviews. Some may be out of print. I'm sure there are others that are just as informative ones, in printed style, not requiring a battery. Suggestions?

My preference is Practical Sportbike. It is available in print or digital and has quite the variety of bikes and is well written.
Red/White US '84, Spec II pipes, Y-boot w/K&N, Fox Shock, Mikuni carbs?

The print magazines are nice, I keep the issues I like the best and give the others away.

Digital subscriptions are less expensive and you can view all the back issues from the time you started subscribing. If you cancel the subscription, I think you will lose access to the back issues.

Digital issues are downloadable to certain devices like ipads. Not downloadable to computers.

Motorcyclist covers a variety of riding and I find the articles well written. Sometimes they try to get too artsey with the pix where a simple side shot of the bike would do but I find it keeps me interested in a lot of motorcycle activities that I haven't done yet or might be interested in. They don't have a lot of vintage stuff but they do cover it from time to time.

Basically this is the sum of the situation.
( "Hello my name is ***** I'm a 25 year bike magazine addict, I have not bought a magazine in a year and I feel good" )

I literally have Over 1000 Fukin motorcycle Magazines...I just moved and now there all in boxes...possibly forever...lol :smt021

I had a hard time finding certain articles, even with tabbing...just due to the sheer size of my motorcycle library.

Buyer beware...lol :smt00

Just too much if a good thing.

I often wonder...where the Fuck did I find the time to drive to the bookstore, buy each & every mag, (Practical Sport bike./Performance Bike/ Classic Motorcycle/ Mechanics/Classic Racer/ Classic Bikes/Moto Retro/Cafe Racer/Sportbike Magazine) ...then "actually" read them?
SO MUCH WASTED time...I likley could have done something far more creative or constructive w my time, but what the hell, I do enjoy reading.

FYI boxed magazines weigh a Friggin Lot!.. :smt009
