Night & day improvement. Definitely NO need for bigger rotors...Unless your ego says otherwise!!!

The bolts are not included. I will get the length and post it later. R1 caliper bolts work for the mounting bracket and R1 bolts for the caliper.

I am researching calipers and read from an unknown source that the gold dot calipers have aluminum pistons and the blue dots have steel. I also learned that r6 calipers 04 and earlier and r1 03 and earlier will fit the same. This conclusion leads me to my query. Gold or blue dot? Aluminum or steel pistons? I am leaning towards the gold dots as I am buying used and am concerned about corrosion....
Are there any disadvantages to the aluminiumn pistons?

If you bleed your Brake fluid once every riding season, corrosion won't be a problem. Brake fluid is hygroscopic therfore it absorbs moisture.

I am asking if there are any advantage or disadvantages to the aluminum pistons in brake calipers versus steel.

Just make sure you keep the correct ratio of master to caliper size. I suggest using the matching R1/R6 master cylinder.
