YAMBITS fuel tank replacement

#1 Post by LC Cnd » Wed Apr 19, 2017 11:16 pm

Hymming and hawing on which tank to select. Pass on the ones from India. That leaves the one's on Norbo's site vs. Yambits. Can't see the dif frankly. Posting outside of GB is the issue but I have an answer for that issue.

Same tank, mine is from Yambits NOT Norbo.

I did this not cos of any issue with Norbo, but simply because I saved 20% on the price of the tank buying it that way as Yambits will sell the tank vat free outside of the UK/EU.

Post wasnt cheap (about 85quid to Aus), but check that as I suspect the rates might change. I will forward you the email contact I used there... check ur email m8.

Of course if you buy and have it sent inside the uk/eu, then it wont be vat free and as such you just need to find the seller with the best price.

Is the tank from Royal Chopper the same as the one from Yambits??

http://yambits.co.uk/rd350lc-fuel-tank-p-65628.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think I note a slight difference in the curvature at the front but that might just be the photo.

YAMBITS fuel tank replacement

#13 Post by LC Cnd » Thu May 04, 2017 12:07 pm

Received my tank from YAMBITS. You be the judge based, on the pictured evidence, to the state of quality. There was some tansit damage (FEDEX) but the state of manufacture is appalling and you would think that it would be something the company would have inspected before shipping. When I asked YAMBITS about the damage, they advised that I should fuel fill the tank and see if it leaks (really?) and get back to them. So, leave the manufacturing defects to the customer to sort out? That's customer satifaction. Oh, the tanks fm YAMBITS are manufactured from Taiwan according to their response. So, I went to check on their website regarding their ad about the quality - the tank ad is gone (for me) when I queried it. Odd & interesting timing. Ck'd my account I no longer have access to it (removed) - and it's not because I did not pay my bill. I have read, on other forms, YAMBITS former customers being block after customer complaints. I had bought other items fm YAMBITS resulting in one foot peg rubber falling apart 1st time used (split) - bought OEM replacement no issues. Moved passed the foot peg purchase - this time I won't. I have 3 other tanks to work with and there is plenty of competition regarding quality parts. If other form members obtained satisfaction with YAMBITS - you lucked out as I did once. Reputation, built on luck, is a shaky business surrounded by alot of inventory. I know I'm not the only one who has been disappointed with YAMBITS- no more. Echoes of TSS. I would have rather written a favorable report - can't. I care about the facts - even if it costs me.

That does not look good at all

Send them a letter of demand to replace the tank at their cost
