2 Stroke Moto Global Warming Summit Ride

#1 Post by RZed » Sun Jul 09, 2017 3:14 am

Hey all,
My buddy Glen and I are putting together a ride up here around Portland. Should be lots of fun with an assortment of 2 strokes.
If you're up in this neck of the woods come out and join us. Should be about a 80-90 mile round trip out on some nice country roads!!

Alas all of our two strokes are down on mx. My son saw one of you riding last weekend out and about in the PDX area. Maybe next year we will have two bikes up and running to join you. Please post pix for all of us in the area that can't make it.

Here's some pics of the ride today starting at the coffee shop, then on to Sandy OR. for lunch. It was a great ride with lots of great friends. :smt023
Only had one set of fouled plugs and a flywheel nut come loose......not my bike. :smt003 Tomorrow we go again with some different guy's that couldn't make it today.
Should be posting up some more pics afterwards.

Well, day two of our ride only had one guy from Seattle show up. His name was Mark and he owns Vallantine Motor Works. Mostly older BMW bike service work. In his spare time he builds custom 2 strokes. :smt023 He brought down his 70ish Kawi 500 Mach III. Hayabusa front end with a FZR 600 rear end. A totally trick bike!! Glenn and I took him on about a 50-60 mile trip on the twisties in the West hills of Portland. Everyone had a great time and no issues with any of the bikes. :smt003
Didn't take as many pictures as I should have. I'll post more as I get them from others.

Did Slinger make these pipes?

They look like the pipes Kenny makes.

Yes, those are Slinger's pipes. He also had the cylinders ported by him too. Garrett's bike is wicked fast now!! :smt003

Charlie
Those don't look anything like Slinger's pipes.

They look exactly like Kenny's pipes.

I'm asking because I heard that someone is copying Kenny's pipes and selling them.

Just curious who is doing that.

It depends on the material, I believe they were both offering them in a coated steel as seen on the yellow bike, and I'm pretty sure they knew each other before Glyn moved to Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if they are working from similar designs that they shared/evolved together.

Garrett told me they are Slinger's pipes. He also had his head O-ringed by him too. :smt023
