I should know who you are. PM me. I was racing TZ250s, RDs and RZ500s in the mid '80s and my buddy, Jeff Waite has been at Yamaha Motor Canada since 1985, I think.
Were you a pro racer? Did you know Clive, Chris Knowles, Steve Kiff, etc.?

1981 RD350LC … RD350H … 1st year for this model … colour was white = 1,534 units

1982 RD350LC … RD350J … 2nd & final year … colour was black = 1,500 units … (the RD350LC was replaced by the 1983 RZ350)"

Not as many as I thought.
Hello LC Cnd,

I will add that to my site ! Could you ask them as well about following RZ350 models: 33E, 1AG, 1WV and 3FB ?

thank you

ehe Xaiver,

Thanks for the compliment. I'm working on my website since 2000 and spend some hours per week on internet looking for information, pics, documents and I enjoy to do that !

merci - thank you

Xavier

Parlé à mon contact Steve et a appris qu'il est passé à la division maritime. Il a informé ses contacts ont tous pris leur retraite - désolé je ne pouvais pas aider plus loin.

Can any other Canuck answer Xavier's question?

It would be interesting to know why some markets got different bikes or configuration . The 1980 RD400G was available in Canada and some other markets while the RD350LC was available in Europe and the 1983-84 RZ350 sold as 1985 in US.

My LC is a 1981 and the number is between 1100 and 1200(don't want to say the exact number) which agrees with the 1500~
I have another frame, cant remember the number but I know its very low.
Anyone got an 81 with a number over 1534?

Hmmm. Is the 82 number a typo?

Hi 2smoke,

The * represents the last digit. My 81' would be a late built in 1981 and the 82' an early one.
1981 numbers start at 000 101
1982 numbers start at 100 101

So the claimed production numbers from Yamaha are definitely proved wrong.
They did seem low.

More accurately they are Not certified, as in Cannot be sold .. period.
They Must be destroyed ...part of the import rules

Not as many as I thought.
Sooo how does this Compare to the UK. Likely they bought a few more.
Hard to know tho given the adoration anything 'older' gets..
