Moving, next week.

#1 Post by hondaror » Sat Mar 24, 2018 3:22 am

The time has come. I've lived in Calgary for 14 years. Now we are moving 3 hours north. It's amazing the stuff that collects. I've been packing for over a month. Organizing, cleaning, and pitching stuff out. Selling, donating and giving stuff away. It's incredible what I'm hanging on to. Much of it will be sold in Edmonton. I only really hang on to good stuff. I hate to see things chucked, because people are too busy to make it useful.
The pack day is Tuesday, rolling out Wednesday. It's going to be fun. Leaving a great city, to go to a great city. There are forum members in both cities. That's a good thing. I'll be bouncing between the two places in the future. Will likely see friends from everywhere at the track as well.

Ok, now you have a choice to make..... Oilers or Flames? some times it's tough to be a Canadian. [smilie=yes.gif]
Good Luck on your new adventure. Hope your move goes smooth.

Thanks guys.

Ken, I reffed hockey for 15 years. 120+ games a season, made it to Jr B. I'm neutral minded now. Was a huge Leafs fan until I moved west. Then Flames. Don't care about hockey any more. Pretty sad. I'll watch the occasional big game. I don't know many players. Used to know them all.

Well I hope Edmonton gets Chinooks earlier than Calgary so your riding season starts earlier but also means you'll be busier at the new shop. Suspect you discovered bits of RD/RZ & BMW you never knew you had until now. Good luck with the move bud!

Thanks guys. We're very excited about being closer to Anna's family.

Scott, no Chinooks in Edmonton.
I know, or remember each box of parts I bough, when I see them. It's mostly RZ stuff. What I am surprised about is the condition of many of the parts. So much of it is in great shape. The body work is pretty standard condition for old brittle body work. (In need of repair). My builds will be a lot of fun.

You're certainly getting your moneys worth out of that van. Good luck with the move Rory.

Thanks again everyone. We are in. I have a week of work under my belt. Lots to do. We were in Calgary yesterday and today. Moved 5 loads plus a big Uhaul. We are juggling 3 homes at the moment.

Peter, no go on the box of parts. Lol. I'm going to assemble and organize all the bikes I have this summer. That's the goal. I'll then know what exactly what I have and can let go.

I have little choice. Need to put all the loose parts where they belong. 3 frames, just hanging. That will clean things up quite a bit. Then I can list up all that I need and all the parts that I can sell.

I recall most of your stock is RZ but would that also include RD bits Rory? Looking for stock spannies as I can no longer get custom ones built (i.e. like JL ones) via Glyn sadly - too busy appearently. Glad the move went well.
