RZ350 Neutral Sensor Terminal

#1 Post by Smoker » Sun Oct 20, 2019 12:29 pm

Anyone know where to get a terminal like this?

Image

What terminal is used on an aftermarket wiring loom?

Anyone find an aftermarket replacement terminal?

The terminal grips tightly onto an M4 threaded bolt.

Haven't found a spade or hook terminal in the correct size. A #6 ring terminal with a slot cut into it might work.

Could always try to re-use the OEM piece, but it's pretty cooked.

yeah just cut the slot, much simpler. Else you could just use the terminal with the normal hole and put the screw in properly. I'm never sure why these are slotted.

I believe Mitsubish and Hero in Japan have made this type of terminal.

Not sure yet, who made the OEM terminal or where to get the correct size.

I too wondered why it's slotted. I would think a ring terminal is just as good and easier to find

The only reason I can think is that its quicker for production, ie leave screw loose on netral plates, fit loom and then do up screw. no cross threading or dropping the screw etc.

If the screw is removed, doesn't oil come out?

The size of the hole in the OEM terminal I have is 3.5mm
M4 threads I have are 3.8mm.
The OEM terminal grips tightly on an M4 bolt.
A ring terminal won't grip tightly after the first use.

Maybe, if the screw comes loose and is covered with oil, the OEM terminal will still be in good contact with the screw.

Im pretty sure nothing comes out but even if it did you only remove the screw for the few seconds to wire up the bike, this isnt a connection you remove at all, one fitted its left there.
