Hello...my name is Rolo...i'm from Argentina, i'm new here... i like your group and i'm glad to share our passion... RD/RZ yamahas!!
I'm 56 y.o. i used to have a few rd 350 1981 my first ride was in 1981 (i was 15) my father had one a few months but i think he left her go cause she was dangerous for a little mad teen.. haha
I had 2 more rd 350 1981 4l0 all were blacks with red stripes.
Now i have a 1984 rz 350 kenny roberts edition... code 1EL...california model... 100%original not restored..with 7.840 original miles.... all completely stock except tyres...she has her original exhaust and muffler and cata...not repainted, no damages...and her original 3er cata activated carbon in the right side.
She is beatiful...has no damages look almoust like 0km... has her bubble fairing original with info decal on it.
I would like to post some photo...but i don't know how to do it. Haha
Sorry my english... i'm sure i'm making mistakes .... i did my best....i should have paid more attention to my english teacher in college.
Greatings!

Hi Rolo! Great to have you post here and to read your story.

It sounds like a lovely bike. you can post photos with imgur using the bbs share links with no sign up, i find that the easiest way.

You guys in South America were very lucky with the RD/RZ YPVS yamahas in production in Brazil until 1995. I have been looking for 1YH fairing panels for years and not yet found them, if you see any while you are looking for parts please do let me know.

Hello ....I don't think we were so lucky ... the yamaha ypvs from brazil did not sell in Argentina .... that's unbelievable ... The previous ones made in japan 4l0 did sell here, pre ypvs model, the same engine that then brought in atv banshe 350 in 1987.
My kenny roberts edition is very rare here ... they only entered in Argentina in a particular way and I don't think there are even 10 units. But there are many banshees, it was built until 2010 and here there are all the colors and models since 1991 ... in fact I have a 2007 red and black 0km without use.
If I find that you ask me, I'll let you know.

Ahh Ok, I assumed (always a mistake) that if they were made in Brazil that you might have had them sold in your market.

Are you sure the banshee has the 4L0 engine? the rest of the world's banshee has the bottom end of the YPVS but with non-ypvs top end. There are some great banshee parts that fit the ypvs for engine spares and upgrades :)

Sounds like your USA bike is very rare, especially if yamaha didnt officially import the ypvs to Argentina so its a great bike to own there. Parts are available from the USA cheaply ad a lot of us from other countries also buy parts from the USA because of this, but i dont know how hard they are to import to you.

Thanks for looking for me, top fairing/lights and frame would be nice, but the part i really want are the short fairing panels that sit under the top fairing if you ever see them:
