Hi Guys, first post here. I just bought my first RZ350 about 2 weeks ago and I'm going through it to get it started. It's a project bike. I think it is all there but who knows as this is my first one. lol Anyway, it had an Ed Toomey Designs box that looks to be a replacement for the stock ignition and power valve system. The bike does have spark but there are many connectors that are not connected to anything. Would anyone have an installation manual for this? Also, since it has a USB port, I'm assuming it is programable. Would anyone have the program for it?
Thanks in advance and I'm sure you will see a lot of me very soon :)

Ed Toomey Design CDI install manual?

Re: Ed Toomey Design CDI install manual?
First try would be always to ask the vendor for support.
For just replacing the stock box, you just need half of the available cables.
Other than that, there's the original manufacturers site:
https://ignitech.cz/en/vyrobky/dccdip2_ ... 2_race.htm
But there's a few issues:
- making the USB2Serial work is kind of no fun. The main company in charge for the chipset has changed driver compatibility to render older Chinese knock offs useless. Unfortunately older original cables are affected, too.
- there's different firmware versions. You need the right programming software to match.
- the box can be read protected. That means you could not read & save the current settings. In a nutshell: You'd have to enter everything on your own.

Re: Ed Toomey Design CDI install manual?
Thank you for the response! I will check the original manufacturers site and try to download the software that matches my device.
Now to figure out which device I have :)

Try the v107 software first. Likely it'll fit your box.
If it's older, then check v86 and v81.
The download link is

And I stand corrected concerning the USB2Serial necessity.
As I noticed the latest P2 Race boxes have a direct USB connection that hopefully doesn't require an adapter.

Contact Ed at Ed Toomey Designs. He is a great guy and would probably just send you one. I have his CDI..... May still have the install instructions, I'll check.
