Differences between USA and Canadian Spec 84/85 RZ 350?

#1 Post by 75RD350rider » Sat May 14, 2022 3:19 pm

I will be picking up an either 84 or 85 Canadian RZ350 at the Deals Gap meet. Not sure which year it is.. It appears to have expansion chambers not sure what brand. I know it has individual carburetors not the EPA type bridged carburetors like the USA models and a KPH speedometer. Don't know anything else about it. Do they have 48H cylinders or something different? Any other differences? I plan to go the Vermont route as far a titling it unless somebody knows that can't be done that way.

If that photo is the Canadian bike you're buying its an 1983 or 1984. 1985 in Canada is full fairing and that frame has none of the welded on tabs. 85 clocks, mirrors, handlebars are all different than 84. Many other differences.

83/84/85 Canadian cylinders would be 31K. Carbs would be stamped 31K.

VIN and engine # would be 33E for 1983-1984 and 1AG for 1985.

Look here for good info. Use the tabs at the top of the page https://www.rd350lc.net/index.htm

What is the difference if any between 31K ( the new RZ has them) and 48H on the American spec bikes?
