Pitbike Supermoto

Post by MK »

As the kids grew out of their PW's I had the glorious idea to get something bigger but suitable for older kids & teens and their fat dad.

I ended up with a used bike of this type:
https://www.imr-racing.de/imr-pitbikes/ ... 55-rr-pvp/

Got the idea from my favorite track, where there are more and more of those.
They even offer special training days for small cc and pitbike only (without offroad)

Most of the useful gadgets like fully adjustable suspension is already included.
I just ordered a radial master cylinder and a 4 piston caliper.
Also will need some pipe work to be allowed into indoor kart tracks.
Depending on my ability to adapt to the new style, I consider getting tire warmers and appropriate slicks (currently it has Bridgestone BT 601 SS semi-slicks in medium compound)

First rideout will be on the first weekend in August when we have our annual RD and twostroke meeting at the Erzgebirgsring kart track.

What ever happened with this bike?

Did you do track days, or just hooligan out on the streets? :smt003

Got any pics?

It turned out to be a super fun ride.
Especially indoors during winter time. I do track days on a monthly base then.
For outdoors I upgraded the engine to a 4 valve 155cc Daytona but it's still kinda small breasted.

I downloaded the first pic. That's a keeper!

Started looking for more pics, and found your racing videos which were posted before I joined this forum. I have always appreciated your knowledge and help with my projects, and with real life issues- but I didn't know you raced bikes.

I've not been aware of your exemplary skill on the track. The onboard video of you shredding up the competition is fantastic. Spent most of yesterday watching. Your lines are superb and amazingly consistent, and your agressive riding is so much fun to watch!

Thanks again, for the help and motivation. [smilie=worthy.gif]

Thanks mate, glad you like it :-)
I wouldn't call that racing, it's only track days with like-minded people. In some cases even two-stroke meetings.
Unfortunately age is already striking. In the last years I lost some seconds on my favorite Kart track

If you haven't already found it, check out some more sins of youth here https://www.youtube.com/@67MOK
There's some footage with the RD, my VTR 1000 and also the Pitbike.
