83 RZ350 ?

I am running a CDI from a 85 RZ350 on a 83RZ350 and connecting the black/white (engine kill) wire to the black/yellow wire and was wondering if this is safe in a long term sense. Thanks in advance for any help!

yes it's the 'proven' method to make the kill switch still work. Grounding the wire (hitting the kill switch stops the cdi )
