Grips. Are these too much?!?

#1 Post by BrianT » Sat May 18, 2013 6:06 pm

I bought a set of Harri's grips for my RZ this morning. The are out of stock at most places and I found them on close out at Action Cycle Online for $16. My question. Are these too much? I like them and think they will look pretty cool, but just wondered what everyone else thought???

They'd suck ass on my red and white, but on yours they might look great. You've already striped the rims, what the heck go for it!

I have some black/clear versions like that with Yamaha on them that I pulled off my XT as i felt they looked tacky, but each to his own I guess.

That's why I'm asking. If I don't like them, I'll go to something different.

It's one of them things you can't quite tell until they are on the bike. If you already got em I'd put em on, you can always switch to something else. I put these on recently, there okay, but I'll probably try something else when the time comes.

I just ordered them yesterday, so we'll see when they get here. It's one of those things that looks cool in the package, but may not transfer to the bike well. A buddy has the blue and red ones on his blue and red RZ and they look pretty cool.

I should say that in an effort to give back to the community, my set of black/white 'Yamaha' grips is available to the first of the NSW crowd who come to visit and want to take them home...

Brian,

Iron (Mark Brady) has those same YB livery grips on his KR RZ and they look really good on the bike in person. I think you'll like them and the look they will provide. From what I understand, they are a hard item to find in that livery.

Well, here they are on the bike. They look pretty good from the rider's position because you can see the strobe stripe, but when you look from the front, the yellow clearly doesn't match the yellow on the bike.

I think I'll leave them on for a while and see if I can get used to them. If not, I can always put the old ones back on or buy new black grips.

Yeah, I figured that out when it had been a week and no one had posted their opinion of them yet! I'm gonna run them this year just because I paid $20 for them and the wife is unemployed. Hate to just take them off and buy another pair.

Maybe they'll lead me to a life partner!
