I don't know if anyone is still interested in this thread but I will be doing oscilloscope tests soon to see where the best place to tap into the 84 US version for a 12V pulse tach using the factory ignition system. Stay tuned..

I spliced into the W/G ignition pickup wire for my R1 tach and it's worked fine for over a year.

I am saving up for a Koso RX2 GP and I have a Zeeltronic PCDI 10VT CDI box power valve controller set up, so I too am interested in any guidance offered. I am assuming from what I read so far if my interpretation is correct that the tach output wire on the Zeel may or may not provide the correct RPM reading? If not I will use the alternative inductive method wrapping a sparkplug wire. Bike is a US spec 84 RZ 350.

The Koso units can take a feed from one of the white wires. Ive found them remarkably robust when it comes to the tacho feed as they only sense and dont use the voltage.

OP is still interested in keeping this thread alive. Although the China tack may end up tossed out for a KOSO or???

Thanks for all the feedback on this.

That's the one I have on my 500. It works flawlessly. tacky1 uses one (or a few) also.

Strange though, I don't believe it has a fuel gauge on it :smt017

Made two simple brackets that will be attached to the rubber mounted birdcage bolts. This is approximately where it will be.

Good work so far. I bought the same Koso unit and I'm waiting to see how you wire it up.

Thanks,
Bald Anthony
