Re: 443 Mito
Thank you for the info! The head is great to look at and equally functional, i like what he did about the flow. Thats the next pc of the puzzle I'll be buying from Roger. Between Roger @ Wicked & Tony @ TDR the future looks real good for us RZ/RD folks.

Re: 443 Mito
Some bits of winter messing done. Never been happy with the Yamaha fuse box with glass fuses, just shite. So cut it out and fitted a 4 way blade fuse box. Also was never happy with the CDI harness, as All that comes with the CDI is a plug I had to take the wires from the loom straight to the plug but there was just enough length resulting in the wires being under stress. Managed to get hold of a new plug and sub harness off a a fella called Rick Oliver who does a lot of stuff for VRF/RVFs, bought my ignitech off him for my old NC30 ages ago. Sent it me for free, was a big help, would recommend him to anyone..
So cut the old plug out and replaced it with the new loom.
Also replaced a few bits and bobs, the odd connector etc. The thing with building something like this is that you get so much practice during the build that by the end of it you end up wanting to re do half the stuff you did at the beginning!!
Nothing worth taking pics of on that front but pleased to keep improving little bits. Changed the bottom hose to a re inforced flexi hose as its a bit of an awkward shape... Changed my clutch Spring bolts to titanium, dunno why, pointless really but they're shiny :)
Topped back up with water and tested quickshifter I wired into the ignitech, seems to work well. Banged it through a few gears here.

Only job left really is my side stand lengthened or a foot welded on then I'm good to go when the weather picks up.

Less weight, less revolving mass, more HP Also 0 weight oil is a must. Less drag resistance.

Hi mate
Well yes that was the real reason... But I'm not about to pretend I'll notice any difference
As for oil I'm using GL4 gear oil

Re: 443 Mito
Post up some riding impressions, after you have it tuned & sorted. Would like to hear what your opinion is of " low " speed street characteristics would be. With 38s Im guessing it's built as a track day machine? I'd like YPVS but the cost or optimizing & weight of everything comp/ servo etc..makes me wonder, if the power is there throughout the low and mid range with your setup, then cost wise it's kind of a easy choice.

Re: 443 Mito
Even without being fully sorted I can tell you that it really isn't that difficult to ride slowly, it is easy to ride below the power band or in it...
The only time that all hell breaks loose is when you ride THROUGH the powerband hard, cos it makes so much power in such a short space of time, front wheel is in the air before you know it.

Re: 443 Mito
New radiator and R6 fan worked great, ran well, quickshifter was really smooth. Still some work to do on the carbs and ignition but it was perfectly rideable.
I may have to look into the nova close ratio conversion or mix and matching some banshee gears as some of the gear changes seem a bit far apart but that's for another day...

Re: 443 Mito
AWESOME! I'm really impressed with the 7mm power outputs. My ambition is still a custom sleeved, nicosiled YPVS 7mm stoker, but thats out on the horizion still. I should drive over and talk to Roger as well, those guys shop is wall to wall with machines. Good work and nice people always pays dividends. I will have a high 10 second streetable RZ...period, No exceptions no comprimizes.
What Quicksifter are you running and what acuating setup does it utilize? I'm with you on the NOVA, I'm trying desperately to talk a friend out of his, with no luck...lol
Quite a sharp machine you've built up.

Re: 443 Mito
Thanks dude :)
The quickshifter is from ignitech. It is basically 2 wires into my ignitech CDI 20 pin plug, plug in the laptop and programme it to use the quickshifter input - job done. I am only using the default settings but it seems to work really well but is smoother the higher the RPMs.

Re: 443 Mito
It's a British sportscar called a GTM Libra, they aren't around anymore but we're available as kits or factory build. Has a integra type R B18C Honda engine in the back of it.
