Yes , many of the 86-87 FZ 600 swingarm conversations used early GSXR caliper & GSXR rear wheel. Also often a GS500 cush drive..... there we were many variables in parts vs FZ,FZR,CBR & GSXR rims on different conversions.
I had this exact setup I sold if a year or two ago. I will try to get to my storage container and get the exact year of the components.
Gord Bush had a pretty good reputation for winning 2 stroke dirtbikes in the Florida area...right?
Rearsets say custom, so they may well be one offs?..I need to look a lil better.
Does your motor utilize the YPVS system or is it deleted? Is it a Banshee engine? Reason I ask is the lock up clutches are usually only drag race or Banshee related.
I know of one vintage race RZ that used Matts pipes and it was really really fast machine, looks as if he's using Toomey silencers...best sounding bar none! He also ran a set of Moto Carrera Millennium GPs and won on those as well, bike was a top end screamer...very fast up top.
28s are a great choice and the V 4s made a good improvement in my 4,mil striker Banshee..some poo poo V force but the dyno didn't lie on set up on my bike. My Banshee is pushing a honest 70 h.p. she's quick for just
a basic stock cylinder cross desert /MX ported 4 mil. And she's been very reliable..(knock on wood)...lol
That's all I can say...You should have a fun machine there...sweet looking bike you have....awesome!
Keep the info coming...really great bike
Thanks, yes I found out it was a rear Caliper from a gsxr, just got the frame back from powdercoaters. Going to use the fz600 rear Caliper instead. the rear sets are one off I found the guy who had them made. I’ll be switching them out as soon as the mail man delivers the Tarozzi rearsets I ordered. Matt shearer does make great pipes, and no they don’t use toomey silencers. Matt shearer makes the silencers too. Yes I’m still running the Ypvs, only way I’ll get away from the power valves is if I go to a 421 cub which I’m not 100% sure yet.
The pro mod trans is a N down 1-6 done by Joe Molinari. Makes shifting under full power a non issue, I’m not sure if the Gord Bush you are referring too is the same one who ported these cylinders. This Gord Bush has a shop in the GTA/Toronto. The previous owner put the lockup clutch on the bike

Got the frame back from the powdercoaters the other day. Starting to put it back together, I’m still waiting on some parts.

She's a beaut. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Thanks for taking the time to post.
Thanks man, your bike is one of the bikes I’ve used for some of the inspiration for this build.

Noticed the tarrozzi rear sets hit the fz600 swing arm on the left side and I had to bend the mount slightly to clear it.
