SFRC 2 Stroke Street Ride 2020

#1 Post by RZed » Sun Oct 11, 2020 3:16 am

Well, I got the RZ out of hibernation and prepped it for the SFRC's annual 2 Stroke Street Ride on Sept. 20th.
It turned out to be an awesome day weather-wise and quite a few bikes showed up. It was supposed to be a nice ride up into the Clackamas River area out by Estacada.
But with of all the wildfires going on in the area the club decided to keep the ride in town. We buzzed around quite a few neighborhoods and up over some good hills.
It was good to get out with some like minded guys and smoke it up with the good kind of smoke!! :smt023

Here's the pics...

Looks fun. Loved the variety of one-off rides.
I worked for a dealer that used to sell about 400-500 Puch mopeds a year back in the 80's. There are still a bunch of them rolling around here stock. However, it seems used Puch Moped's more often get turned into wacky street racers. It's the funniest trend I've seen.

Yeah, the local scooter guys around here have some pretty wild rides. They can get pretty creative with the mods they do.

That was a fun day Charlie! I am so glad we got out while we could.

My TDR was running better than ever! I had just installed a Zeel CDI/PV controller and leaned out my jetting a bit.

Hopefully I'll be out on my LC next time around.

Hi Charlie!

The LC is getting real close. Just installed a new Dyna coil a few days ago, and am still chasing the jetting around.

Would be a big help if there was a knowledgable dyno tuner nearby I could just drop it off with. I've gone up 10 sizes on the pilots trying to get the off-idle just right :smt013

Gone on lotsa break-in rips around the hood, and am about ready to put it on the dyno at either Vicious Cycle or Scooter Swap Shop so I can see where the A/F is. I think pilot and needle are close, but the mains are still uncharted territory.

Regardless, It's turning out real nice, and pulls hard.

Looking forward to the next time!

Sounds like you need to drill the bellmouth balls out and clean the carbs properly as that cant be right. Do a search and will see what I mean.

Running PWK28's with pipes and UNI filters.

Started at 45 pilots and now on 52 and looking to go up to 55.

Not out of the realm at all, really.

Ahh, actually that combination is what my bike came with when it was a 350. So that's up 3 sizes and looking at a 4th.

Well, yes. 45 to 55. Not ten sizes. Total of four.
