Hey Hooligan,

Who did your lines for you?
I'm looking for braided SS full length

Local guy, who in the end was a PIA and I wouldn’t use again. The lines are a bit too long which isn’t the end of the world but slightly annoying.

Haha, I used cheapo lines off ebay and they work great with no issues.

The banjo fittings are even proper green passivate zinc. 😜

Thank you everyone's responses on this subject, I appreciate it. Does anyone know where to buy the special tool for removing the blue dot inserts? In North America?

I did see a tool available a while back out of the US, but the price was mental. Plenty available cheap in the UK. Shipping is cheap too. https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... l&_sacat=0

Thank you for the all the input. I purchased 1998 Yamaha R1 Blue Dots. Rebuilt them. Purchased the adapters from Tony at TDR. As per @Tacky1 recommendations I brought Venhill individual lines. I then finished it of with a 2015 Yamaha FZ08 master cylinder. I also brought titanium allen head bolts. I've yet to ride it, waiting to insure it for the season.

Very nice. What does ICBC want to insure it these days? Are you going to get a collector plate?

Thanks @silverstrom, @tacky1 and @OldTZracer. I got the bike @20 years ago from a wrecker that went bankrupt. I paid $125 for it and had full plans for restoration. I stripped the bike down powder coated etc and then life got in the way and it sat. I've been gathering parts along the way. With Covid last year it was time to finish it. All the paint is original. It's 95% stock except for the front brakes, Micron Exhaust, and Micron fork stabilizer. I am insuring it this weekend. @OldTZracer it has collector plates and because of the CC, it's @$100 CDN for 4 months. Thanks again, guys. I should post a few more pics.

Nice, those are essentially the exact same brakes I have on my LC. I find they require a fairly decent pull on the lever but they do produce serious braking power.

We had a full set of Triumph brakes on our RZ and I found those to be too sensitive. Too much brake power too quickly. In a panic they could be dangerous. I like the ones on my LC a lot more.

Its too bad my LC will never make the trip down to Van as it'd be cool to put two near identical bikes together. :)

If you have to pull hard to get it to stop with those brakes you have the wrong size master cylinder or something else wrong. I used an R1 master cylinder on my RZ when I upgraded and it will haul it down from 100 MPH with two fingers. That being said the blue dot calipers update is the best modification you can do to our bikes. Big brakes are great!

I have an FZ08 master cylinder, same as the OP. I don't like ultra sensitive brakes. I'd prefer to have to put some effort into the lever pull. Prevents locking up the front in an emergency braking situation. My bike stops plenty good enough. :smt003

If it works good for you more power to you. My old hands won't allow a hard brake or clutch lever anymore.
