RD350LC Oil Pump Settings

So I rebuilt my oil pump and set it up as per the manual. I have run the bike and removed the oil lines to see if they are pumping. I can see oil ever so slowly weeping out. I have smoke... but not as much as I thought. Any thoughts and wisdom about the setup and testing would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Oil pump output is measured over a set number of strokes. The numbers below are for the RZ350. I would expect similar for the LC.

Minimum Output per 200 Strokes is 0.12 cc to 0.19 cc
Maximum Output per 200 Strokes is 2.58 cc to 2.85 cc

That is going to be at minimum pump stroke and at maximum pump stroke.

Everyone should be doing this test after an engine build or pump removal.

When you install the oil pump you need to manually pull the cable to full stroke to prime the system. It does take a bit of time for the pump to push maximum stroke oil through the lines. You should see lots of smoke at at maximum stroke. If you don't you should look at your pump settings again.

Quick question Tacky1... I got clear oil lines out of the UK. I bled them and they are indeed pumping. My question is, where do you measure your .25mm? It's not totally clear in the manual. Could you post a pic with a feeler gauge? Cheers

It’s between the washer on the end of the plunger and the top of the pulley. Where the pulley meets the plunger
