Superbike bars

#1 Post by Yamavarna » Fri May 21, 2021 3:22 pm

I have just purchased an 01 r6 front end and a Cognito Moto billet top clamp with 11/8” risers, I have searched to find which bar bends fit the stock fairings but I can’t find much. Has anybody done this? If so what bars did you go with?

you mean non clip on bars for the full fairing model? if so I dont think anyone has done a single bar and not had to cut the fairing a little.

Interested if anyone does find a way without cutting so do keep us posted.

Welllll... that’s not good news as I’ve already bought all the parts except the bars. I was hoping to get some relative input but I may have to go it alone and post my results, I’ve always been a bit of a trailblazer so let’s see how it go’s. Didn’t the USA models come with handlebars? maybe they didn’t come with a full fairing

So I found some Apex clipon’s with a 4” rise that are fully adjustable but they are very pricey

I have also found flat track bars with almost 40* of pull back, I think I will try these first although they will need to be cut down in width

Or modified the steering stops.

Early model bikes were a different upper fairing that wasn't frame mounted. That fairing is mounted to the triple clamps and the fairing and bars turn as one.

Build a naked bike and it won't matter Charlie :smt003

Well more options, I like the full fairing but a naked bike opens all sorts of options; quarter faring, bikini fairing, different headlights, bars and more room for organizing the cockpit to suit my plethora of Orthopediac injuries. Thanks John!

I got Tarozzi adjustable bars at Fast From The Past. 01 R1 front end on an rz500. They have a 3" riser so bars are a little above triple clamp. Might not be what your looking for but wanted to let everyone know cause I like them a lot.

Edgefinder,

How close do they come to your fairing at full lock? They do look fully adjustable
