Tire Sizes for stock rims

#1 Post by olgreyhair » Sun Nov 28, 2021 8:19 pm

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I could not find it in the search.
Currently my 84 RZ350 has a 90/90/18 on the front and a 100/80/18 on the rear.

Can i go any bigger?
Will a 100/90/18 fit on the front?
Will a 110 or 120/80/18 fit on the rear?
Are you tired of answereing this question and can provide a link? :smt001
Thank You for your help. George

100 will fit on the front; any wider slows the steering noticeably. 120 will fit out back. I have a 130 on an FZ rim in an FZ swingarm and it feels fine.

Spoke to my local bike shop last week about tires. Was advised to steer away from Bridgestone or Metzler - said he noted quality control has gone down, as of late, on those brands. He suggested Michelins Pilots but I'm leaning towards Continental Conti. Any comments on the pilots as they fit the sizes suggested.
