Price makes me wonder if a gps immobilizer should be a part of the purchase price lol.

Time to call Hagarty and raise the coverage....again

https://www.hagerty.com/

If you have a good condition RZ or other classic M/C hagerty has very good rates for comprehensive (Fire/theft/damage) coverage. I think I'm paying around $150-$175 each per year for my 84 and 85 with $15k US total loss coverage.

Great sale. But original unrestored low mile yellow RZ's will always command a premium!

Was comfortably entertained by UK/Japan pricing on RD/RZ's vs the affordable values here in North America - especially in Canada. Thought the value bubble would have burst, at least in North America, to help with current rising insurance costs - nope. Hagarty not an option (wish it was). Can buy vintage insurance but only allowed to drive in parades (for mosquito control?) lol.

RE: Parades Is that just a Canada thing? I don't see any verbiage in my Hagerty policy resricting when and where I can ride while maintaining coverage.
Even with that restriction, at less than $200/year it's worth it to me just for theft and fire. I'm not sure if $15,000 would even begin to make me whole if the bike were stolen but it would be better than ZERO.

I erred. I was quoting vintage not collector plate status - around $200. However, collector plates will not allow you to use it for work or school travel. Then you have to add on comp/collision and theft fees here in BC (not all of Canada). Oddly BC government runs the auto insurance here; ergo has a monopoly. Congrats to the winning bidder.

I plan on selling project bikes in the near future. I’m in Alberta. I won’t take less than $4,000. That’s for a bike that does not run. $5,000 for a runner.
We Canadians are starting to clue in that these bikes have been shipped out of the country and are no longer a dime a dozen.
I don’t think I’ll have a problem moving them. We shall see. There is always so much interest. We’ve done it to ourselves. Sending them off for the big bucks. I know of more 1UAs in the states than I do here in Canada.
