racebike progression

#1 Post by alexanderdraper » Thu Mar 05, 2009 2:53 pm

this is what she looked like the day i bought her. that was in 04' i think.

Image

a year later.

Image

last year. have since soled those spec 2's

Image

not much different visually from the 2nd photo except for the pipes.
but due to an oil line coming loose there were a few of engine mods done.
-4mm stroker crank.
-base plate spacer
-porting
-combustion chamber reshaping/cc'ing
-32mm vm carbs
-mossemburge 6 petal reeds

there are a few more things in the works as far as mods.
i plan on racing it in a vintage series here in ontario (the VRRA)
so i have a lot of prep work to do.
i just got JL pipes the other day as well as new clipons, ss brake lines, a solo tail section, steering damper, completely rebuilt forks with race tech emulators and more stuff that i can't think of right now.
will post pics as i get more completed.

That first pic looks like my old bike I sold in I think 1995-96.....
When you sanded the belly pan was it blue underneath??
It was a friend of mines first and he took the original red rims off and put the 83 rims he had off his last bike.....
I sold it to a guy in Hamilton ...I think...?

very nice love those pipes are they a set of gp exit pipes or are they called high risers ??? will look nice with a single seat....

i am planning to strip my 350 next year and freshen her up internally, although she still goes like a scalded cat on speed, what sort of hp numbers are you getting out of your set up

ya those are the GP exit ones. i dunno what kinda hp shes got i have no access to a dyno.
i cant get a fork brace for her because none makes/made on for the forks that are on it.
i'm running avons. am23 90/90 on the front and an avon super venom 120/80 on the rear.

i don't think that it is the same bike. the shade of yellow is different.

had a race over the weekend. did well in the heat race but had an off in the final. corner 2 at Mosport is kind of notorious around here. its a crazy blind 5 story drop into a double apex, decreasing radius, off-camber left hander.
i turned in too early and was going too fast ending in me going wide into the grass going at least 100 mph.
i waled away with a head ache and a broken pinky-finger.

here is what the 86 looks like
