I'd like to see more. I wouldn't mind doing that to my project and getting rid of the useless center coupler. All I'd need is Glyn's part. I have the rest here. I'll email Glyn to see if he can make another one.alexanderdraper wrote:thats a slinger solution to the misalignment of the valves.silverstrom wrote:Interesting valve set up Alex. One servo into a splitter to both cylinders?
he actually made up a nice little piece that bolts right to the servo that allows 2 sets of cables to hook right up.
it works a charm!
ill post a closer pic later

Re: 86' rz350 work in progress.
im sure he would be glad to. there is also a bit of work you need to do to the end of the powervalve to make it longer and give it the keyed shape to attach that wheel onto.
you still need the coupler to hold the seals in. :) you just hog it out.

Thanks Alex
Re: racebike progression
Hey alexanderdraper, what year r6 did you steal the internals out of? I have 89' fzr600 front end (i think) im puttin on my tzr 350 set up.

Re: racebike progression
Thats some crazy cross bracing you are doing. None of my TZ's have anything like that.
Here is my 79 TZ250

Re: racebike progression
there are a few years that work some better then others i am told. all the last few years of the conventional (non usd) forks will work. i believe the ones i used were from a 1999 r6jord-rz wrote:Hey alexanderdraper, what year r6 did you steal the internals out of? ya looking at those frames i might have went a little mad but i enjoyed it and i don't think i added all that much weight.
I'd rather ride one of these frames!

Re: racebike progression
Would you rather ride a "replica" Harris frame or my real Rob North frame?
Re: racebike progression
I know you are having fun with your RZ and keep it up. You have braced the front up and did some bracing in the back but you have done nothing in the middle. To do so you need to add an extra tube underneath the top tubes and make sure you have enough room to slide the engine out like on one of my RZ's.
Also look at Ducati frames to give you ideas. The X brace you add behind the radiator is not needed in that way. If you look above the radiator on the frame behind the headstock you will see it is dented in, you need to add some small bracing there and mount the radiator forward a tad. This spot of the frame gets buckeled in if the front of the bike hits something.

Re: racebike progression
I hate to tell ya but id rather ride a full chromoly replica made locally. not to take anything away from your beautiful bike! i would gladly take any of them for a rip!!!
im not sure that i agree about the X in between the down-tubes i think it resists the twisting of the headstock when going over bumps at full lean. which i figure it would force the suspension to do the work. i will check out that spot that you mentioned is dented in. i hadn't noticed that.
I hear ya about the in between bit not being strengthened but I'm not sure that i want to add that much material to the frame though it would surely be beneficial.
the other problem is not really having a good spot to tie it into the frame in the back there. did you weld it to the stamped bit at the swingarm pivot?

Re: racebike progression
I bought the brace RZ frame from Davidj when he moved out to Florida. He welded the end of the brace to the swingarm tivot bracket.
Here is a pic of my bent RZ frame.

Re: racebike progression
hey alex, on your front end set up, do you still have compression adjustment? If so how did they go about setting it up? thanks

Sadly no,jord-rz wrote:hey alex, on your front end set up, do you still have compression adjustment? If so how did they go about setting it up? thanks
It was gunna be too much work to get that going on.
John at accelerated tech just made a guess.
The fork would have to come apart to adjust it.
