My back is so messed up, I can hardly walk today, and I had to take pain meds (which is very rare).
None the less - I'm in negotiations to get a 1999 YZ400F WHICH IS REGISTERED FOR THE STREET IN CALIFORNIA!!!
The guy is asking way too much, but I'm trying to get the bike for a reasonable price.
Would be my first 4-stroker in about a thousand years!

What happen smoker? You crash? WTF? You ok? Details...
And I think the pain meds are making you delusional. You will hate your self after you buy that 4-poke lol.. you think your back hurts...? Wait till you try to kick start that stubborn yzf400. Also them bikes require a lot of valve adjustments ever so Many miles. Wait till you try to attempt that lol...

In the book- "Judo, Heart and Soul" by Hayward Nishioka - Hayward says that I've given much to the sport of Judo. I'm honored to have my ugly mug in there at all.
I've paid a big price, though.
I've got MANY good Judo stories.

Sorry to hear about your back, back injuries are the worst.
did you say yz450f? Adjust valves? what the hell is that? You can adjust reeds? power valves? Oh you said F as in FAT or Fuck my back hurts!
You know, I blew my back at work last month and haven't been to Pala for a while and I miss it BAD. Actually I think the upright riding position is better for my lower back but whackin' that throttle off the jumps kills me.

Well, he was asking $2,800 USD and I offered $1,500. Blue Book on the bike is around $920.
Then the bike ad disappeared from Craig's List.
Then the owner found my thread on another site and posted up.
I then offered 2G's if he would deliver it to my house.
He said he would deliver it for 2,250.
But it's a risky proposition, so I stood on 2G's and haven't heard back yet. I might miss getting this bike over $250, but I guess that's it.
The problem is that any cop can stop me and say "What the hell is this YZ doing on the street?" - Then it goes straight to impound. There's no riding an illegal bike home. Plus, there's a chance I may not be able to register it in my name after I buy it.
Finally... do I really need another bike???

I don't know if you can keep it street legal but if it's already titled for the street it might be just that easy to go to the dmv and switch it over to you?
Just the fact that it is legal for the street, {IF that's the case} it might be worth the extra cash. BTW, Cops usually aren't smart enough to know the difference. The smartest folks on the planet usually are't cops !

It only takes one smart cop to end all the fun.
True that and like you said, you don't really need another bike but and theres always a big but. To have a street legal mx bike in California would be the cats pajamas.

So, most of you guys probably know that I got tagged good last night by an SUV.
I'm miserable at work from no sleep and pain - and I just got another email from the YZ owner.
He says - if I increase my offer by $100 USD - he'll deliver the bike to my house this weekend.
Of course, the last thing I want to think about at this moment is a stunt bike!!!
I'm such an idiot... I'm probably going to go for it.

Well, the street-legal YZ went away.
The VIN and engine numbers didn't match - which means it has to go for CHP inspection before it can be registered. End of story.
Been through about 4 bikes on my search for a stunter.
Now very close to getting a new WR250X. Got a feeling this is going to be it!
I know I have to get the other projects finished, but I can't help it.
