So bummed. If my bike was running right, I'd probably be riding in the rain today. At least I could try.

Started yesterday by cleaning the air filter. Cleanest air filter I've ever cleaned. :smt003
Definitely not the problem. Cleaned the inside of the box while I was there.

Stripped it down and hung the tank from the rafters. Need to get out today and change the spark plug. Then, will start it up before putting all the parts back on, to see if it's running smooth.

Pretty sure it's not going to be that easy. Got a feeling a valve is out of adjustment. Big job on this bike, but will have to try. Took a peek at the service manual- looks ridiculously complicated. Damn 4-strokers.

Spark plug was tight and looks right.
Other owners were recommending the Laser Platinum plugs, so I tried.
First new plug I found is OEM style.
Damn! Didn't realize how tiny the platinum electrode is.

Test fired in the rain. Seems okay, but the problem was intermittant, mixed with good running. Will need a good test ride.

Leaving the body off, so I can clean it tonight. Get it back together tomorrow.

Well, shit.

Can't get the leg over. It's a tall bike.

Didn't like doing it, but... Put the kickstand down and stood up on the left footpeg - then I could get the right leg over. Have to get down, the same way.

Might go for a quick ride later today to check the engine, but not quite ready to ride. Might be hard to put my feet down.

Wish I didn't have to post this.

Crashed out on the freeway. Bad this time.

Don't know what the bike looks like, yet.

Most of my ribs on the left are completely broken. They move around like they're not connected at all. Left shoulder was dislocated, cant move my left arm. Rash all over. Can't lie down because of the ribs. Can hardly stand up. Tough being home alone, but somehow, I'll get through it.

I don't have a huge crash history. Just very bad luck, lately.

In HORRIBLE pain. Need to try to find out today where my bike is impounded.

I hope better news will be coming, soon.

Heya, Pete... I'm right there with ya. Be strong dude.
I had to have extensive (ass) surgery. :smt010 Yea.. ya read that right najor hem-ectoy ....I'm sitting here in such awful horrible pain now too, since last Thursday haven't slept in 2-3 days except for my body giving up..
Hydrocidone/ Norco does absolutely nothing..I mean nothing. The nerves are as raw as I can't even imagine, never...never have I felt unending, relentless pain like this....I've torn ligements, Dropped like a rock into unconsciousness from severe kidney stones...But Dear GOD nothing as awful as the nerve pain ... I'd like to think I'm as tough as the next guy??? But FU#K this hurts something bad...it's straight from the Lucifer's cookbook.
My wife always took care of me... lol When she passed.....all I had was my lil dog. Thankfully I've met a nice woman G/F that's helping me through this as best she can.
I do hope EACH of us ...feel better soon .....and you don't have to continue going it alone.
You must get a home care nurse a colleague or someone to come help you out man!.... Somethings just can't be done alone.
Report back, when you've made some progress... Okay
Best wishes.... :smt039

Get well soon!
(though "soon" is a rather long time for broken ribs. Brother and dad both suffered for months from broken ribs which occurred as a collateral damage during lung surgery)
