I know what you mean. I have tracked the costs of some of my rebuilds and restorations and you just shake your head at how much it cost and the hours yu have in. Now I just do them and it takes as long as it takes and costs what it cost, and not keep track.

look up columbia coatings, they have a high temp ceramic paint and you can do it yourself at home for way less than it would cost to get it done
I have tried it on other 2t pipes and works good

if the coating is peeling under the rear mudgaurd, and it is powdercoating, I am not sure that paint would have held up any better. I have had many things powdercoated, and some things like fenders(inside) and foot pegs never hold up very well. Not sure what would be good for that. All in all I have...

awsome. how long was it off the road for. Great to hear that it just started up and you were able to make a trip with it. That was a fairly long trip if you are from Onaway.

you just have to make sure that is what you want to do or need to do, because once you remove the material, you can`t go back. have did this mod many times and always had great result, although always on rz350`s and banshee`s. If anyone wants to know more about carbs, i would greatly suggest olav ae...

I have done that before but only on my rz350. Not the 500. Was easier and cheaper to modify the slides to make them leaner(change from a 2.0 to a 2.5 or 3.0 cutaway) than to buy new ones from yamaha. You just file down the slide on the air inlet side. On top of that you would need to find a parts gu...
