Re: Track Day Tyres

I need road legal track tyres & mileage is irrelevant, so grip and handling/turn in are key.

Will keep to standard sizes.

Avon look to be favourite

Re: Track Day Tyres

None taken my friend, but I'd be quite happy to do a few laps on the RD. People like to see these bikes too, so it's also a public service!! I would certainly like to see it! I've only done some parade laps on my 500 , had a set new-ish Avons fitted , in between the traffic, I gave it as much as I ...

Re: Track Day Tyres

I would go with a set of Avon Roadriders over the BT45s, I love the 45s, but I think you will get more grip with the Avons, Bloody hard to find decent tires for the 500 with the odd front wheel size.... I switched from BT45 to AM26 and I am pleased with the results. I won't be going back. BT45 is n...

Re: Track Day Tyres

Seriously? I'd not rate anything suitable for "track" riding unless you're just about to ride on a track like you would at home. And in the latter case you're not talking about anything different like you'd use on road (like the Bridgestone BT45's). In the past I was using ME33 CompK and ...

Track Day Tyres

What do folks use on original wheels for track riding?

Cheers

Re: Value of RZV500 Frame?

I have a Canadian RZ500. I got it in not great shape after the PO let it sit for 20 years. It's a long term project. The frame is crusty and has surface rust in places. Pretty minor rust but I was thinking if I have to pull it apart to get it repaired and repainted ... why not just slide an aluminu...

Should perhaps add that I'm in the UK and I see Bill is in the USA, so that may prove useful.

Re: Rear Crank Timing out 2.5 Degrees

Not looking to move in on Johnny's business here but I too am having some made up. Will hopefully have them in a few weeks to a month. After a geart deal of soul searching the last few days, all of this started out just if I had a spare key or two, but has grown very quickly and taking up a great d...

Re: Rear Crank Timing out 2.5 Degrees

What material are you using for the key?

I don't have any plans to disassemble my motor, but probably wise for me to have one here too pls.
