Gearbox Oil Level & Quantities

How to check?
Read somewhere it's with a warm engine running and oil level showing 50% sight glass
Manual says warm engine but switch off and 50% in sight glass

1.5ltr for 'wet' gearbox
1.6ltr from dry build

I just hold the bike straight and make sure it between the marks in the glass, Thats it, Yamaha allowed extra oil for road use, same as the 350, Racers used a lot less oil in the gearbox, less drag..
