Good Middle of December to You All.

Finally making a little progress the past few weeks.

Got frustrated at my own progress with polishing the Toomey silencers so dropped them at the polisher that did the swingarm...$60.00 later they are awesome. Money so well spent!

Last night I finished up the mods on a set of OEM reed cages. My personal mods that I use on the Phase III and above engines. I then proceeded to do a little polishing on the cage lip and also the cage spacers.

Pictures over the weekend for sure.

I'm going to be spending a bunch of time over the Christmas/New Years working on the beast to get it much further along. Now that the cages are complete I'm near ready to put the engine together, WOW it really is going to happen!

Happy New Year Fellow Club Members and Future Club Members!:

Been waffling around about posting too much more progress for a few reasons I guess; 1. not much progress as of late (winter duldrums got me down a bit), 2. doesn't seem like there's that much interest in my project anyways.

Still loads to be done. As soon as I think I've made a dent I look up and see tons more detailed things needed yet.

I spent some time over the Christmas break (took some vacation days) and cleaned up all the wiring bits, the instrument bits, retaped and detailed cleaned everything. Got the front turn signals sorted and custom fit so they will hug the body panels nicely. Spent another hundred bucks at the plater doing bits I missed in the first large load of parts they did for me.

Last week I installed the UFOs in the carb slides and last night I started the process of seating them. A lot more detail work making them seat just perfect, got two of them done before retiring for the night.

The engine is all together and sitting on the side bench on the cool little stand I built for it. I fitted two carbs and have been playing with mock ups for an airbox design for the 34s. Very preliminary for sure. I'm thinking that the left side will not allow for as large a filter as I'm mocking up on the right hand side now.

I'm holding off of the engine pics for now until I can get a good camera and lighting to do a good shoot.

Hoping to see my tail bodywork back from the painter anytime soon as well the White Power shock. The shock is really nice. I sent it in as a check up and recharge right after I received it in December.

Still have to attached the decals on the cowling and then clear coat everything. A bit daunting for now.

More later.

OK...still not a large response. Fact is I'm not a road racer as you all well know, never have been, never will be. I do like it but most of all I like fast two-stroke motorcycles. My goal with this project wasn't a replica (as I've stated before), nor any type of retro build. It's a show quality piece that is also stupid fast. Given my own budget and time frame I limited the headaches and modifications to those you see, i.e., front and rear ends, wheels, frame etc. For what I've got it's some nice stuff and I'm only trying to make it nicer.

The goal is a show bike and I'm sure it will show well.

So, here are a few pictures of the assembled engine on the little custom stand I built just to take pictures of it.

Waow !
That Engine looks so good !
Wish it should go in my bike.....

Looking at those fotos I almost only see the soon 30 years of worn on my Engine.
That one looking (much) better then new!
And that even if it´s orange

When you said red I was worried, but that engine looks really nice. You wanted different and it is. It shows off all the details that makes the engine so different than anything else. Can not say it enough, the detail work is nice. Replating the parts really does the trick.

Beautiful quality work !! - colours not to my taste - but the important thing is that you like them !

Cheers
