How are you doing with this

I have been very negligent towards the 2 strokes over the last 18 months or so :(

I pre-ordered and bought one of these... '17 CBR1000RR SP2 #65.

...and since it is Hondas homologation special, am turning it into a pucka WSBK.

First I turned it into this, and then once I verified it all worked as a SuperStock bike... next stop Super Bike status :)

I have learned a lot with regard to custom parts fabrication etc. I will be in a much better position to tackle some more specific custom needs when I get back to the 500 builds. I have had custom parts water jet cut as well as CNC'ed for the Superbike build.

I have also made many new contacts in Japan and the UK and the Netherlands and hope to parley those contacts into finding (or getting made) the rest of the bits needed to finish the 2 500 builds.

Full Superbike build thread is here on the CBR1000 forum:
https://www.1000rr.net/forums/modificat ... build.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And some ear candy:

It is complete custom. Stroker cranks by Gus, cylinders are unique Vito over bored Banshee barrels.

Heads are CNC remove-able dome Vito heads.
They are custom Vito barrels.
The cases are trenched, welded with new studs. Kickstarter gear is removed.
I have accumulated lots of extra bits and pieces over and above the cases, cranks, barrels, heads for the build.
TZ250 chassis, dry clutch, ex-GP500 radiator, a couple sets of monster carbs, 4 way magnesium throttle etc.etc.

I am not really interested in selling - but as they say everything has a price :)

Well, after a long time work has started again on the OW48/53/TZ500J Wannabe :) I am just reusing my Instagram post images.

With my own shop I guess there are no more excuses LOL

Weighed in at 336lbs with almost no fuel.

Frame swap, front end change maybe, tank swap and perhaps lighter swingarm should save another 15lb.

Thanks - there comes a point where the gathering of parts must stop and the building must get done lol

Whew... disaster averted!

I was sure I had an RZV 51X swingarm pivot bolt... but with crates and boxes and storage lockers full of collected crap, finding it was proving to be a challenge!.

But all is well... :)

Those bolts can be hard to come by. I got lucky and Rzvtokyo hooked me up. My frame came completely stripped so I had to source the other odds and ends. Luckily there are some pretty cool guys on here. Can't wait to see this beast with aluminum bones!

I received an email from Miyabee/Spongebob about 2 weeks ago - they were breaking up an RZV and a 51X bolt was for sale.

Almost regretted not snatching it up but as I say, disaster averted.
