Here is a nice item for one of the 99 owners of the real RG500 Walter Wolfe. I'll pass on this one. I have other projects.

a lottttttt of money. you are better off with a 1985 930 turbo. all you need is to upgrade the four speed tranny by adding a filth gear. you may want to add a smaller turbo to the existing turbo for less turbo drag

I'm still hoping to buy my friends very rare 1976 911 Carrera 3.0 He bought it when we were both living in Germany from the late 80s to early 90s.

I've only seen a few for sale over the past 25 years. This is the last one I saw for sale and it sold for $109,900 US in June of 2019 https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/po ... ent-anchor

The 930 is faster and after doing the conversion I suggested. The Alfa doesn’t stand a chance. When you have exotic cars you can afford a truck. The 1976 3 liter carrera was the test bench for the 911sc. The thermal reactors were not very friendly to the 2.7 magnesium cases. The 1976 3 liter 911 targa is very desirable. They only build 176. My favorite Porsche will always be the Grossmutten

Stock 930 was what, 13.5 1/4 mile?
Dont know your conversion, but you gotta knock 2 seconds off to run with a stock alfa twin turbo tow vehicle.

Apparently you are not aware of the 24 hrs of Daytona or the 24 hrs LeMans. A Porsche is not used for 1/4 mile red neck racing

Stelvio quad is faster around nurburgring than 996 997 porsches from earlier this century, as well as lambo gallardo , f 430 etc.

So if you are talking a production 930 from late 1970's, sorry, exciting car to be sure, but time and technology has taken its toll. Heck, I kinda wanted one then but had to settle for a more mundane 69 911
Had an ama pro roadrace license.
But I'm comfortable with your redneck inference, as it seems you are racing yours at le man's and daytona 24.
Hats off to you.

I don’t know about the Alfa :smt017 Are we talking a limited number type? Then we need to kick the Porsche up to a 935 or a 936 maybe a 962?

The 996 or a 997
Is just a production type. How about going back in time and Hans Herman in a 908 barely trying to
Beat a Ford GT 40 in the 1969
LeMans race a three liter Porsche against the 5 liter GY40
The only Alfa’s that impressed me was the Alfa that Tazio Nubolari drove against the Audi union cars
