RZ500

Nice Forum!

I was a professional mechanic for these bikes back in the 80's and 90's. My specialty was the RZ500.

All the other mechanics at our shop hated to work on these bikes, I LOVED to work on them, so I did all the jobs!

I was also a mechanic for a few professional racing teams, who raced the RZ500.

I have rebuilt and tuned hundreds of these bikes and engines, modified gear ratios etc etc.

These are great bikes and engines as long as they are well maintained and tuned.

These engines were jetted slightly rich from the factory in fear of seizing.

That unfortunately sometimes caused premature spark plug fouling.

If your fouling a lot of plugs, lean out the main jet 2-3 sizes.

I will stick around and help out if I can.

Willing to do work and rebuilds for people in the Toronto, Canada area, just because I like working on these engines so much!
