R6 forks - clip ons

#1 Post by acer787 » Sat Dec 24, 2022 9:00 am

Question: I put R6 tripple clamps on and planned on running stock R6 clip-ons. I know I'm gonna have to grind on the steering stops, but do you have to run after market clip-ons to gain some more steering radius? It seems like it will hit the tank with out gaining much.

Mine are awful close and have hit with a low side. The issue with stock R6 is the locating bolt puts them in a fixed location. The bike is going to turn like a Mack truck. Those stops are a pain to grind down and you have to remember you are weakening them by changing them. Just the way it is. I now run Woodcraft clip ons for the TZ 250.
