Re: rdstars hybrid

Been a long time since I posted. Still got my Hybrid, few pics from end of last year when I took it for a quick Mot. https://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q48/s32bm/44181725_10155506523346415_6229251520500596736_n_zps4ajnekpq.jpg http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q48/s32bm/44102201_10155506523276415_...

Re: Clutch Basket

Thanks,

Oil is fine, after stripping I found a broken tooth in my Primary so waiting for one to come. Think I messed it up leaving it standing for a long time and clutch locked on, I have got all the steels scuffed up, new frictions and just waiting to put it back together now.

Clutch Basket

Been a while since I have been on the forum but I still have my Hybrid . Had a few issues with my clutch since I left it standing, it did stick so managed to get the plates disengaged rocking back and fore. Seem to be fine for a while but started slipping. Added 3 TZ springs and changed the oil 15w4...

Re: Solid Copper Head Gasket

I posted up on Norbos site, I got one sat in my hands only just incase I blow mine. Got mine delivered from the States to the UK in about a week.

Im guessing a smear of VHT Copper Gasket sealant both sides before I use it.

Lucky for me I don't smoke, I have got a cap that fits in the top from an old oil tank.

Works a treat, I only been using it to keep the motor running while in bits.

Re: clutch spring options

My local Yam dealer stocks EBC, got the larger plates and EBC HD springs. Mine now handles the ported piped etc motor.

I was looking and it looks quite easy to mod the basket for an extra plate.

Re: 1986 nsr250 has no spark

NSR World forum would be your best place to ask, but if memory serves me right you got an MC16 and they have twin CDi units that are common to fail. ( One for each cylinder )

Re: Carb experts.

Cheers guy's Reason I asked is that I had a pair of 31k carbs ( no needles ) so used my PJ needles in them, the whole set up is mirrored off someone else's so should have been near. Float bowels were filling ( set up clear tube method ) but it was struggling to pull fuel through. It would start ( fe...

This old RZ, Think you missed my point, if your intention is to buy a bike to build then pay someone else to do "all" the work then what is the point, I don't get it, just buy one already built. The worse thing at the moment over here in the UK " Probably over the US aswell" is e...

Mine all in is around the £3k mark. ( not quite finished but 99.99999% done )

Problem is someone gets the idea "I'll build a bike" then pays someone else to do the work, all that is done is a little bit of spanner'ing. My as well just buy a non runner or special already built.

Save your pennies: Acetone & Scrap ABS Google"Acetone ABS Lego repair" I do all my repairs this way, basically Acetone chemically turns the ABS into liquid plastic until the Acetone evaporates, the trick is not to have it to runny and not let it evaporate to quick. No heat, not brittle...

Carb experts.

Lot's of talk again recently about carb's so while the experts are here time to ask a question, carb's are one of my least liked parts to play with. I ran some 31k carbs and had issues, float bowels set'up ( clear tube ) and filling nicely, all jets and everything clean and clear BUT had issues with...

Ordered from my local Dealer, just under £50 for a set of EBC friction plates 2255. So with quality plates and more friction area that should stop any slip.

I do have a spare basket in my hands, may if needed next time mod to take an extra plate.

Thanks, Reason I was looking at EBC HD is that they seem to be the most common and decent enough price. Part number I found was CK2255, and about £46 delivered to my door. Original fitment for the RD I found was CK2240, so I am guessing the first two numbers is fitment and last two numbers is frict...
