RZ250R front brake master cylinder compatibility

#1 Post by LVLEO » Mon Jun 10, 2019 8:35 pm

Hi, I want to change my front brake master cylinder. The thing is that I'm not sure about that if the ones I've found on ebay are compatible, would you help me?
With this one i'm not sure about the bore size. It would be a problem?

With this one I'm almost sure that the bore size is correct but maybe there is something that I'm missing

The point is that I don't want to buy something that is not compatible. If you have some brand or link that you are sure that works I aprecciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Leo

The first one is similar to the old Yamaha R1 master , these are copy of Brembo under licence and were found on a lot of bikes of the area including other bike manufacturers .
I had one on one of my LC , they are cheap used , your first link is for sure a chinese copy .

I have an 84 RZ350 stock master cylinder in good shape. If it will work for you it is $125 plus shipping. I take pay pal.

genuine nissin is the best way to go

11mm will give you softer lever and more feel . but require more travel to get the pressure

https://japan.webike.net/products/21554403.html

13mm will be more pressure at the lever less feel and less travel

https://japan.webike.net/products/1448221.html

depends what calipers you have fitted ,
what is the master cylinder size you have fitted now ?

What would you think about this Nissin?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hydraulic-Brak ... 1438.l2649

what are the banjo bolt for?
"Requires M10 x 1.25 banjo bolt (sold separately)"

Would this master cylinder fit? the original calipers will work?

Thanks

Best regards

i have 5/8 and 14mm fitted with brembo 4 pots and fzr 4 pots
dont like the 5/8 as it has little feel the 14mm is much better

i would go with a 14mm master with the 2 piston calipers
