They reply off their fb account. Easier to chat with them that way.
Thought US folk would be all over these....

Well this was about letting all you folks know about new steel tanks being produced for our bikes......you want carbon go start your own thread.
In alot of countries it's illegal to run carbon or modified tanks, insurance reasons etc.
Plus alot of folks have OEM restored bikes might just want a good solid steel tank.

A tank is one of those things that you don't think about until you need one. I have stock piled spares over the last 20 years but only recently found a nice condition used tank for a decent price. It would be interesting to know what they charge for one since new condition tanks fetch into four figures on eBay. They have some nice stuff on their website.

L.B,

I don't think anyone was trying to hi-jack the thread... simply offering information on other options. I've been trying to get a hold of the Retro guys for over a month and other than one response early on... nothing! So they (Retro) could make perfect tanks but if we can't buy them because they don't get back to us, it's rather useless... I'd love to get a new steel (or aluminum LOL) tank... but I can't buy one if they won't get back to me :(

I got a response from them a while back and with the conversion to USD it was right about $1200 at that time, FWIW.

On the Retro Special Parts website, they posted a cost of 45,000 yen/$423 usd (11/2018).

Definitely not what they quoted me in May of this year. If they make one that is $423 I'll grab 2 of them for sure.

Edit- Sent them an email instead of going through facebook, I'm going to try and get an updated price and timeframe for when these will be done, as it seems they are behind on manufacturing based on what I can translate.

I think on their website (or Fb) they said the $400ish price a couple of month back as I thought the cost reasonable.
