C'mon Steve...how many of these bikes are going to come around for sale?smurph wrote:Yep, I looked at that one. I've been wanting one for quite a long time. A dream bike, so to speak.

There's only 2 days left, and there are NO bids. Why not offer the guy what you are willing to pay, just to take a chance.
The R250SP is definitely of the nicest stock bikes I've ever seen.
Lowball him hard! It's a buyer's market, and with the new laws- that bike can't be registered (except where you live. ).
Plus it's been crashed. Did you notice the left upper fork tube?

Those bikes and the other 80s 90s 250s were the best pure sport bikes ever. There used be be a couple of guys in the late 80s early 90s "mag editors"who rode around Glendora Mnt road etc... they had TZRs and Gamma and NSR 250s..those bikes just flat out KICKED ASS & TOOK NAMES and were smooth as glass. When you tried to keep up on a RZ or any other bike for that fact you were just plain embarassed.
It really showed how old fashioned the 1970s RZ 350 frame/bike design was. Even 20-25 years later Im pretty confidant those bikes can humiliate 90% of the sport bikes they would come up ageinst on a tight track or canyon. You could just brake SOOoooo late, and go through turns SOOoo stable they just never seemed to slow down youd think you were catching them ..then youd brake to go into a turn and they would just keep going .
As far as registering them itsALWAYS BEEN ILLEGALin CAlif or any other state. Sure there were title loopholes from state to state that enabled titling and you could also change #s from a donor bike. BUT ITS STILL ILLEGAL. And you run the risk eitherway of getting caught by a keen officer. But do you think a cop these days... really knows the differance between a TZR-250 registered as a 1980s-90s RZ,FZ,FZR or a NSR 250-400 registered as a VFR,CB,CBR
You only here once, and I woudnt bet on a afterlife...Ive you want one and have the $$$ go for it

all i know is that in these circumstances, it sucks to live in the USA! Australia, got imported models of these bikes and are still registerable. we also got suzuki rgv's and kawasaki's k' models, its a shame the US stopped two-stroke's so early on, in Australia its really quite easy to come across mint rgv's etc for around $4000 AUS which im guessin is around $3000 USD, however other models such as the tzr and kwakas are a bit harder to come by, but we can still register them!
It's the blue smoke and sound that give it away. This old RZ wrote:But do you think a cop these days... really knows the differance between a TZR-250 registered as a 1980s-90s RZ,FZ,FZR or a NSR 250-400 registered as a VFR,CB,CBR
Every cop I've ever talked to can spot a modified exhaust. It's extremely common on cars and bikes, and tickets for them create a lot of revenue. Two-strokes are generally spotted by their exhaust pipes.
I'm pretty sure all CHP officers know about two-strokes and gray market bikes.
My guess is that if a cop knows the bike is a two-stroke registered as a different four-stroke - that bike is going straight to impound, and might not be returned to the owner.

how come none of that ebay sellers bikes are listed on the American ebay? They are only listed for sale in Canada ebay, although the seller is in Cali.
1985 R/W/B RZ 350 ported motor, Toomey pipes & Y boot, 28mm TM Mikuni flatslides, Duncan Racing manifold & boost bottle, TDR reeds, Tokico 6 piston front brake calipers, Fox Twin-Clicker shock, Avon tires
1984 Y/B RZ350 DG pipes, Dyna Ignition, clip-ons

I'd be all over it if... I didn't have 4 RZs in the basement. If... I had the money. If... I wasn't married. If... I wasn't afraid of losing my job any day now. Etc... I freaking hate the word 'if'!!!!
He dropped the price by 500. It was 6K the last time I looked at it. But it would still be an even 6K to get it and have it shipped clear across the country.

I had to ask, even though I knew the answer. She said no. As I thought. She said something about a kitchen, or the house, or something along those lines. I wasn't really paying attention as I was still dreaming.
I guess it was really a bad time to ask. I just bought tires for the Vette, a set of 2CTs for the RZ500, and a tire changer.

Some TZR history and tidbits.
3MA was the reverse inline twin. The cylinders incorporate auxiliary exhaust ports.
The 3XV V twin is not reversed.
The 2KT inline twin was not revered and is basically the same as the bottom half of a RZ500 engine.
The 2MA/2KT/1KT and 3MA cylinders are 90mm tall where the 3XV cylinders are 70mm tall.
