Reading with great interest, as I have an LC engine to build myself. You mention Lectrons, but are you retaining the oil injection?

I think Ill drill the Chariot intake and fit the injector there rather than in the carb, That way I can swap the carbs around and not worry about an oil source.

Little more progress, Engine in, Clutch window finished, RZ500 kickstarter modded to work with a RZ350 knuckle (Thanks Jon) Bars fitted, brake lines fitted and all bled, Headlight is test fitted, it'll be a little lower, Clocks are mock fitted to get it all lined up, Wiring harness is ready to fit, Bunch of minor crap all done, Setback with the 36mm Lectrons, They are hitting the frame, they fit the RZ frame no prob, But the RD frame is in the way, So ordered a new set of Genuine 35mm PWKs and get them in...
More to come :)

Looks fantastic Paul.

Lots of really nice mods on that one. Too bad on the carbs. I love those clear windows on the clutch cover. Is that a DIY mod or do you need to have "real" machining done?

And where did the headlight come from?

Lll. That there be a lot of Qs 😂

Clutch mod was easy enough. I got the window from Nigel Kimber. It came with the screws and all the o-rings.
I drilled out the window wit a 5mm drill bit. Lots and lots of holes and knocked it out and then filed it nice and smooth.

Headlight is an LSL kit. It’s a generic kit. I didn’t like the fork mounts though. Way to chunky as they were designed for any size forks. I bought a 38mm fork mount kit for a headlight and used the fork mounts. A lot nicer.

Thanks. I'll try to keep it to one question at a time. :smt005

I've got 2 bikes with 38mm forks and one of the headlight surrounds got a little mashed so...

LSL headlight, that's not a cheap china ebay headlight. Looks very nice. :smt016

My one question for this post, did you buy the 38mm headlight fork mounts from LSL?

Nope. I bought a cheapo headlight mount kit from eBay. The mount kit is a lot nicer than the LSL mount kit.
All I wanted was the fork clamps.

Looking really nice. Too bad about the 38mm carbs, but that's the compromise with having to use spacers to fit the big reeds.
Looking forward to seeing it all back together. (They are never really finished...)

Beautiful Paul. I love that paint scheme.

Also, YouTube embed I have done it in the past year and can't anymore. It works on BARF.

Had a nice set of LC clocks with broken needles, I didn't have a set and saved by Shaun over on the RDLC forum, posted them out to me. Stripped the clocks, replaced the faded dial decals, new surrounds and all cleaned up and look like brand new, Stuck on a temporary headlight till the OEM one turns up, It'll be a while as its on back order. Just waiting on the belly pan and fit the front muddy and we have another one finished.
Oh, look what followed me home, another 500 project :P

They do look great Paul. Amazing what a difference they make to a restoration.

You have some pretty great things following you home. We need details :smt003

All that follows me home are stray animals and future ex-wives.

Lol. Animals and ex wives. 😂😂👍

The 500 is stock engine, rebuilt. RSV Mille suspension. Yzr bodywork. Needs a lot of work.
I’ll strip her down and start from the ground up. I have a replacement rear wheel to match the front. Have all the brakes etc.

Love to see those vintage Micron`s on the LC, I bet they sound wild, music to my ears.
