Thanks for the vote of confidence I had never thought that shorte would look better but it makes sense. My buddy in Collingwood who specializes in carbon fibre is doing it, I haven’t gotten it to him yet as he is still busy with boats, I am thinking of fabbing up the mounts first; that hose (vent)? coming out of the rear of the tank is kind of in the way is there an alternative route (out the front maybe)?

You may need to notch the seat pan for the vent.

Seat should cover the notch.

It’s been about a month since I’ve really done anything on this bike, since then I’ve received the SmartCarbs (although I’m tempted to use them on my lc project that has taken over) and I’ve been in touch with Rory from Calgary who straightened out my Airtech dilemma, I now have an f2 solo seat on its way that is supposed to fit the 88!

I’ve fitted the shorter steering stem and welded the damper post and a couple more gussets in, I’m gathering all the parts that need to get powder powder coated, but first I have to finish fitting my old tzr250 wheels to my lc (12mm axle to 17mm axle) as they are going out also.

Heya! The YZR seat will look WAaaaay better IMO.
Congrats!
They look great particularly fantastic with the K Roberts bumbler bee paint scheme. Stock graphics though... I have never seen a variation on the Yamaha bumblebee stripes other than stock that I felt look good.

It’s been a while since I’ve had any real progress on this; I’ve gone back to work after Orthopediac surgery so I’m just trying to get back to basics on this one and see where I am at.

-the Penske shock fits perfectly, I got it made longer than was recommended on here but the swingarm is still pretty close to the frame at full compression and it still has the bump stop to compress.
-the new Airtech piece fits better but kind of has that stink bug look that I’m not fond of, mounting it just right is going to be a combination of matching the lines on the tank and getting the rear a little lower, I guess it will take a bit of basement engineering (cans of beer and looking at it)! The frame is going to (needs to) get all of the unnecessary appendages looped off.
-I lucked into an rz500 kicker to adapt to the rz350 knuckle.
-the front end is almost completely sorted. The 43mm forks almost look too beefy but I’m glad I went with rsu forks.
-I need a linkage bearing/shaft and seal kit for the Gamma donor parts, (anyone know a good source)?

I think just dry fitting everything on this Frankenstein is the way to go at this point, so I am going to bolt almost everything on to see what interferes with what and, most importantly see how all these none stock parts look together with the stock parts.
