Just wondered if anyone knows of a paint stripper that won't affect my radiator shroud? It has been painted using rattle can by the looks of it and I want to "try" and restore it back to the original plastic finish...
Any suggestions?

Re: Restoring a painted radiator shroud?
Hi Expat,
I just did the same project last weekend. My rad shroud had been painted and was in rough shape.
I tried a couple of paint strippers neither of which affected the plastic at all. I found the Permatex 80577 worked best at softening the old paint.
Even after using the stripper there were a few areas of paint that were still hard to remove. I used a fine wire wheel on my bench grinder to remove them. It worked well and left no marks but it definitely requires a light touch.
I bought the paint stripper from NAPA.
