Lets se a 1984 ........470 lb 80-90 h.p. machine vs. a
2010........360 lb 170h.p. machine...................

.......Good luck..reliving the GLORY DAYS [smilie=wheelchair.gif] [smilie=thumb_yello.gif] [smilie=wheelchair.gif] [smilie=russian.gif] [smilie=thumb_yello.gif]

Any new 1000 would be sooooooo far ahead by the end of 2nd gear it would be humiliating.

PARTY ON, ol grey haired dude

HERES ANOTHER FUNNY READ :smt005 ! This guy must be my age or older : [smilie=wheelchair.gif] :smt005 :smt010 . Hes actually built a VERY,VERY NICE lilttle bike :smt023 and looks like hes spent ALOT of $$ [smilie=eek.gif] too.. Its just that he states in his posts at least a few time that hes gonna go out a kill him some GSXRs.............Good luck...
I just hope he is not totally demoralized when the inevitable happens [smilie=ops.gif] .HOLY SHIT....I JUST SPENT 5K AND JUST GOT SPANKED [smilie=sediata.gif] [smilie=sediata.gif] [smilie=sediata.gif]

There is not a GSXR ever built 750cc,600cc,1100cc,1000cc 1986 too present that cant outrun a mildly worked over RD-400 like its standing still in the turns or straightaway?????
His bike looks great and should run great but hes gonna get smoked...hope he enjoys the RD for what it is :smt010 and not for what its not capable of doing :smt023

Ricky's Daytona project: Update, a little more progress 4/29..a couple more pics

Wooo Hooo, it's under way!
So I started the Daytona (finally), at least got it tore apart. I put this in the Turning Wrenches instead of the Show Off section cause no doubt I will be needing help! Hopefully I can get the frame, swinger, triple, and fork lowers stripped, sandblasted, and ready for powder coat in the next week. I figure this rebuild will take til next spring. The motor will get a lot of "attention", even though it only has 5,500 original miles on it, it will get ported, standard 400 crank welded/balanced (I already have the donor crank), and hopefully TZ bearings (dont they have more balls?). New tranny bearings, new CDI iggy, blah, blah, blah, you get the idea...
I want this bike to be a show stopper and a Gixxer killer! [smilie=giljotiini[1].gif] I would love to say $ is no object, but who would I be kidding? I just want it to kick some a$$ [smilie=sediata.gif] :smt005 and look as good as it is gonna run!
