and its surprising how many people dont know that there was an era of 2 stroke street bikes
me and this other guy pulled out onto the main street together, I briskly took off, and just pulled away from the guy, not even full throttle.
He was running new GSXR600 with a power commander and exhaust and intake mods

Yea most guys they dont know about motorcycles, at all history,repair..
From what it sounds like they do miss shifts, and make us old guys think our RZs can keep up. Theres no way a RZ is gonna run with new 600 sportbike past 2nd gear:smt009 . Just not in the cards...But perhaps you caught him sleeping at the line. WHICH IS PRETTY FUN as he proabably didnt know the diff

ya unless your running one of these 500cc monsters you don't have much chance of keeping up with modern 600's. they are just too good now.
you can surprise the hell outa them with your 'little' 350 though. and thats fun as hell!
i sure do love my 675 though... hey 4 strokes can be fun too. don't tell the rzinger i said that though.

2 strokes/four strokes. I dont careI like anything from ,any size any genre. Majority of the best bikes ever made are obviouslly 4 strokes. If I had the $ there are far more 4 strokes Id want. But then again there are vastly more to choose from.
The standing 1/4 mile acceleration of the newer 600s is astounding..there only a hair behind the literbikes. Yea they lose out to roll-ons and top speed.....but you go 150-160mph often and youre not gonna be of this earth long

All you have to do to get into the heads of the 600 guys is let them ride your 350. They will think it is waaaaay faster than their 600 just because of the way the power band feels. They will never want to pull up beside you after that, even though they would probably out run you if they did.
One 600 guy's comment after riding my 350 was "Shit, that is lethal!"
So if you can't beat them, just scare the crap out of them.

I've ridden enough of these "modern" bikes, wouldnt you say that up to about 50 mph the 2 stroke is quicker.... then they will catch you and go sailing by. I've noticed its that initial quick pull that leaves them speechless.
I ran a guy on my 750 H2 triple, he had a modern liter bike and on the takeoff I had him for a couple of bike lengths then he caught me and just blew right by. (once he got into HIS power band)
who knows, maybe he was asleep at the switch, but HE was the guy who pulled up next to me at the stoplight and gave me a few throttle blips. I figured it was ON after that.
