Brackets to mount R1 calipers on an RZ350?

#1 Post by mapleheavy » Thu Apr 21, 2011 12:07 am

Hey all,

I've tried NK a couple times, but I never get a response.
Anyone know where to get the adapter brackets or CAD files?

This is to put the R1 blues on to an '85 RZ350.

Thanks!

I have some CAD files that I have made a couple of sets from. I think T-Rex has a set. Email me at cervelorod at gmail dot com and I'll send you them. I could do some on the CNC but it would 3-4 weeks and they are pretty utilitarian looking....

I'll get some pics from mine and send first when I get an email.

Where in SE? I just moved from Hillsboro to Eastern WA 2 summers ago. Miss PDX sushi....

I live on 39th & SE Division, but around the area for about 10 years... Grew up in lovely Oregon City (ugh).

I'll shoot you an email now!

Actually yeah, I got a hold of him and got a set. Dang they're nice.
I had to grind a little bit of the casting marks off my forks, but no big deal.

Yeah I do have a set of Desmodue's R1 brackets. Cleaned the rough edges with a die grinder, painted 'em Harley Texture paint black and they cleaned up nice visually. Kinda blends in with the caliper from a distance. R1 calipers,Brembo 16MM M/C,stock RZ rotors and the original rubber lines for now. Haven't had the chance to ride it yet but a squeeze on the lever tells me it's an improvement. Soon.

I had the same fitment issue & told NIGEL about it about a year ago if memory serves me :smt017 & he thanked me for the feedback. :smt014
i guess he discarded it as i thought he would have removed a M.M or 2.
i ground up the adapters rather that the fork legs although, THEY SURE DO LOOK SHARP but @ that price you would think they fit :smt009
he sure does have some goodies & is a great source of the bling that gives the RZ curb apeal & now the RZ STOPS ON A DIME.

So you had perfect fitment on your LC huh Jimbo, thats what i get whether it be chambers or the brackets from across the pond.
i always say YPVS & get non powervalver stuff it seems when sourcing out of the UK. [smilie=ops.gif]
the lc & ypvs 350 must have different castings on the lowers because he said he tried two or three forks legs & all was lined up.
enjoy the stoppies :smt004

Hello everyone first time post on the board :smt006 , Happy to have such a wealth of info available.
I'm looking for some templates or cad files for 84 85 Rz350 stock fork, to R1 caliper and R1 rotor. I'm on a budget and don’t want to spend 160 bucks to get them from NK.
I know someone has to have this combo that can make a pattern that could be cut out of stock would be awesome.
Also what size hardware would be helpful?

Thanks in advance
Patrick

I emailed NK, He has not made this combo before and said it would take some time, and not sure how much. If any one has a template for the narrow spacing 84 85 stock fork to the R1 Caliper and Disk Please help or can you refer me to some one that has made a adapter plate for this combo.

Thanks
Patrick

Hi Paul8899
The forks are not threaded. So not understanding Hole pitch, the caliper is threaded for the bolt.
The hole spacing is 43mm center to center If that helps
